Potential New Oscar Categories

The Academy Awards have arrived yet again. Rarely do new categories get added to the biggest night in Hollywood. However, I offer these potential new categories for consideration by the Academy.

1. Best Childhood Favorite Ruined by Michael Bay

This one is self explanatory. Many of your childhood or teenage favorites have been ruined in one way or another by Michael Bay. This category would award the favorite that had the worst remake. Next potential victim: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

2. Best Attractive Actress Playing a Supposedly Ugly Character That Can't Find Love

We see it all the time...an attractive woman playing a character who is a nerd or lonely even though she is above average in the looks department. Think of Sandra Bullock in "Miss Congeniality" (before the makeover, where she was still beautiful, snorting and all!) and "The Net" or Ally Sheedy in "The Breakfast Club". This would give Romantic Comedies a chance!

3. Best Use of "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons in a TV Spot

I'm pretty sure its in 75% of all ads for Movies and/or TV shows.

4. Worst Unnecessary Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian Cameo

They do seem to sneak into a lot of movies.

5. Best Meryl Streep

She is always nominated, so why not pit Meryl against herself? As a bonus, we would be guaranteed a great speech from her every year.

6. Best Use of Rain to Symbolize a Dramatic Moment

Anytime a storm rolls in, you know either you or the characters will end up in tears. Unless its X-Men...that just means Storm is about to kick some ass.

7. Best F-Bomb
