It Feels Good To Win!

Poland has had a lot of sports triumphs this year - so let's celebrate!

In past years sometimes this is what it felt like to be a Polish sports fan

2014 has proven to be a benchmark year in Polish sports.

The year started off on an amazing note with a knock-out performance by Polish athletes during the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Poland won 6 medals in Sochi, including 4 gold! Before these Winter Olympics, Poland had won 2 Gold Medals total, one in 1972 and one in 2010, just to put this year's winnings in perspective.

Kamil Stoch jumped for Gold! TWICE

Poland's ski jumping star Kamil Stoch jumped for gold in the Men's Normal and Large Hill.

He would be the first to medal for Poland in Sochi, but the medal count would only grow from there!

Justyna Kowalczyk crossed the finish line for Gold

Our Gold Medalist from Vancouver (2010) also won Gold in Cross Country Women's 10 kilometer classical in Sochi!

And did we mention she did so with a broken foot?

Rafal Majka was crowned "King of the Mountains" for his spectacular riding in the mountain stages of the Tour de France, thereby becoming the first Pole to win a jersey during the race (King of the Mountains wears a red and white polka dot jersey).

Majka became the first Pole to win two stages of the Tour de France.

And he went on to win the 2014 Tour de Pologne.

Michał Kwiatkowski World Champion!

Kwiatkowski won Gold in the 2014 UCI Road World Championships, thus becoming the first Polish cycling world champion! He will wear the champions jersey for the next year.

And then we won a bunch of medals at the European Athletics Championships Zürich 2014

Not only were we hosting, but we had our eye on the top prize!
