The Most Popular Baby Names of 2008
The most popular names that all of those wacky parents gave to their offspring in 2008. Out is Emily, and in is Emma. When I was a kid, parents either stuck to the saint’s names, or they were dang foreigners. I was named after St. Plaid of Madagascar.

William Howard Taft, Your 27th President 4 years agoAh, the annual “names not to name your kid” list. Unfortunately, the ascendancy of “Emma” does not signify that “Emily” has finally reached its saturation point. Rather, parents who want their daughter to share their name with at least five other girls in home room have figured out that you can just break “Emily” into “Emma” and the still-climbing “Ellie”/”Ella.” By 2020, the top ten will probably be something like: 1) Em
2) El
3) Ly
4) Muh
5) Eh
6) Mm
7) Ee
8) Emma
9) Ellie
10) Emily -
