You’re the one who should read the Bible. The New Testament makes it perfectly clear that EVERYONE isasinner and that we are ALL EQUAL IN SIN. That means YOU are just as muchasinner asagay person, oracrack addicted junkie who shootsaclerk whilst holding upaconvenience store. You are living this life in just as much sin as everyone else; the New Testament is very clear about that. It is also very clear that you are not allowed to judge anyone else. So maybe you should go off and read your Bible because you evidently completely misunderstand it and, like huge number of Christians, mistakenly think you are somehow better than other people when you are living in sin just as much as EVERYONE else…

I think you’re the one who doesn’t understand context and meaning. In Exodus and Leviticus God tells us how we are to treat our slaves. Since it is the part of the Bible wherein God is telling us the rules, if he was opposed to slavery then that’s where he would say that we shouldn’t have slaves. He doesn’t do that though! What he does is explain the ways that slaves must be treated (amongstabunch of other disgusting things he approves of-it is also OK foraman to sell his daughter into slavery). The CONTEXT clearly presents the MEANING-which is that it is OK to have slaves. This is the same area of the Bible which people use to say that homosexuality is not allowed. It’s worth pointing out that it is only men lying with men that is condemned; lesbians are apparently OK. At any rate … there are no two ways about it-if you believe that God condemns homosexuals then you must also believe that he condones slavery. Howeveralot of this stuff is completely contradicted later on in the New Testament and that’s where the whole problem lies; firstly that the contradictions in the Bible allow people to believe whatever they want to believe, and secondly because people pick and choose to conclude that slavery is now no good but that homosexuality is still frowned upon. There is no consistency in the logic…
