In all seriousness though can these two candidates dual with the best of them or what (dripping with sarcasm)? I was sitting in my jammies this morning watching the local news here in NH and couldn't help but notice both candidates political ads have started becoming more pointed and therefore, more humorous. Obama is calling Romney a corporate raider while Romney plays a clip of Obama saying the private sector is doing fine over and over and over again while listing statistics that unemployment hasn't been under 8% in recent memory...Tisk tisk Mr. President, How dare you tout sucesses you and your party have made in helping the U.s. Economy recover over the past 4 years...In fact, if you use the Dow Jones Industrial Average as an indication of private sector growth, consider this: When Obama Took office in January 2009, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was in the range of 8000 to 8200 just beginning to bounce back from lows towards the end of the George W. Bush Era. Today, the DJIA stands at about 12,625 as of about 1:30pm est on July 22nd 2012. That is an increase of over 50% from the range at which it was when Obama took office. That seems like pretty signigicant growth in a stock market whose equity value are based on the prospective growth in years to come. Is it the Obama administrations fault that corporations have yet to hire back employees at the rate by which they laid them off at the beginning of the economic downturn? Or, are the corporate raiders responsible for "working with what they've got" in terms of employees and pocketing the earnings achieved in doing so? As I like to say, the rich aren't rich because they like to spend their money. Think of that next time a conservative tells you that less taxes on the rich equals more jobs for us worker bee folk...
