On Thursday night, "The Vampire Diaries" debuted its fifth season. The spinoff series "The Orginals" also kicked off its series premiere.
On the one hand, I'm thrilled that the Original vampires are getting their own show. Because if we're being honest, we only watched last season of TVD for Klaus.
Klaus. He always kept us on the edge of our seats. Who would he kill next? Would he finally rip Tyler to shreds?!?!?!
But now, Klaus has left Mystic Falls to romp around and kill some new people in New Orleans.
Though obviously he'll be missed in Mystic Falls, an Originals spinoff could provide us with much more Klaus time. Bonus: new hot vampires
But there is one totally terrible thing about Klaus leaving Mystic Falls...
Because, you see, here's the thing: Klaus and Caroline are supposed to be together. Period.
Klaus is a wild and fearsome beast, and only Caroline has the power to tame him.
Usually, we have to worry about Tyler, because Caroline loves him even though he is a total flake and will never love her like Klaus does.
PRAISE BE TO THE TVD GODS! Tyler has deferred his enrollment, which means he won't be at college with Caroline.
This presents the perfect opportunity for Klaroline to finally happen, except now Klaus is in New Orleans, which is literally a whole other TV show away.
Additionally, now we have to worry about this TOTAL TRAMP, HAYLEY.
Alas, Klaroline fans know not to give up hope. All good things come to those who wait.
And even though we now have to add "The Originals" to our weekly TV watch list, it's a cross we're willing to bear, if we can finally have our sweet Klaroline action
BONUS: Maybe if "The Originals" gets big enough, Caroline can cross over and we'll finally be rid of Elena.
