We Should All Be Listening To Barf Troop

We really need to be talking about Barf Troop a lot more.

Barf Troop is a 6-piece rap group . The group consists of black non-binary and girl feminists with their own individual styles that bring them together as a motley bunch with a whole lot of flavor. They have been compared to groups like Odd Future and Spice Girls, but, with their online presence being the cause of the group's creation and popularity, they're beyond comparison.

Here's Babefield, the velvet-voiced member with hard-hitting punch lines. She likes to eat good and live good, two things that I think may have inspired the title of her most recent album, Half Ripe. (for starters, I recommend you listen to this and all of Half Ripe). Babefield's tongue-in-cheek humor and poetic writing style is evident in her work and her smooth voice will most definitely make you swoon.

Babenstein, the most mysterious of the group, is the horror enthusiast, who is into dark arts, MF DOOM, and being real in your face. My three favorite songs by them can be found here, here (this is seriously my favorite by them like A1), and here. Much of Babenstein's nonchalant attitude shines through in their verses.

Then, there's Babeo Baggins, the geek ass 6-foot elf with a sick flow and a cute voice. They like bugs, snails, bluegrass, and bruising like a peach while being twice as sweet. Babeo just dropped a cover of Little Bit by Lykke Li on Valentine's Day, showing off their singing chops, which will be released on their upcoming EP, Love Songs for Tough Guys. Also, you can check out my two favorite older songs by Babeo Baggins here and here

The youngest of the group, Babelien, is a canadian powerhouse that can spit like an assault rifle. Their name, Babelien, is derived from their interest in the unknown of the outer space, UFOs and aliens. They also are really into Death Grips, and you can hear some of the group's influence on their gritty, high-speed, head-bumping track from their work under Babelien's former artist name, Diffakult, here.

Baberella Fox is a small girl with a big message, big dreams, and a big ol' heart. Her work is inspired a lot by how she fits in the great world around her. Baberella loves to show her perspective of her surroundings in her photography as well, which is absolutely stunning and has caught the eye of many online zines. Check out some of my favorite songs by this squeaky voiced, pint-sized babe here, here and here.

Last but not least is the Turn Up Kween of the group, Babe Simpson!!!!!!! Babe Simpson loves cartoons, pop culture, and pop punk. Her livewire attitude and penchant for mischievous fun makes her work so much fun to listen to and gets you ready to start some adventures! Her new single, Martians, is set to be released very soon, but for the time being, you can listen to my favorite tracks under Babe Simpson's former name, Justin Baber, here and here.

Overall, Barf Troop is a very inspirational group of very talented artists who will be on all our radars soon. So, join the Barf Troop fanbase and, as their motto says, "Upchuck or Get Fucked!"
