What's in a name? A lot of deception...

1. Red Pandas

The shared adorable clumsiness would make you think twice, but Red Pandas are not Pandas. They're closer to racoons.

2. The Elephant Shrew

Not an elephant or a shrew. Poor little guy has no close living relatives.

3. Crayfish

Crayfish are not fish, but are relatives of lobsters. They can get pretty cray.

4. Meerkats

Despite the sleepiness of both's young, Meerkats are closer to dogs than to cats.

To make matters worse, meer means lake and they don't live near lakes.

6. Mountain Chicken

Not a chicken and does not live in mountains. Come on, Science. I don't need to be the one telling you that.

7. Aardwolf

The Aardwolf is not a wolf, but a relative of hyenas. If it's any consolation, aard means earth and they live on Earth.

8. Killer Whale

Killer Whales are dolphins, not whales. But they do have killer vocals.

9. Guinea Pigs

Guinea Pigs are not pigs and do not live in Guinea.
