10 old wives tales I heard growing up in a third world country in Latin America.

1. Cold water Makes you fat

I'm on a diet, so no ice in that water.

2. If you watch a dog defecating you will get pink eye

Even the dog is like "What!?"

3. Grinding your teeth in your sleep means you have parasites

4. If a woman swallows cat hair she will become infertile.

Because that totally makes sense.

5. Having your hair cut by someone with curly hair makes your straight hair curly, and vice-versa.

Stay away from me you flat haired creep!

6. Playing cards at night is "a sin"

It's also frowned upon in the day time, not so strongly though.

7. You shouldn't shower or bathe while menstruating

I guess being cranky isn't enough, you gotta smell too.

8. Iguana eggs are an aphrodisiac

I've never had the eggs but the Iguana itself kind of tastes like chicken.

9. Walking barefoot gives you leg cramps.

10. Newborn's urine is great for your face.
