Diurnal birds are daytime flying birds, like hawks or turkey vultures. Meanwhile a nocturnal bird such as an owl are only active at night.

Turkey vultures have no feathers around their head making it easier for them to find meat in a animal carcass. They can also easily clean off their heads on a tree branch or grass and pick out remains that get caught in their nose.
