I will be going to VidCon this year, and with the huge amount of stuff most of us take, we are bound to forget a few items.
Here is a quick list of things that, at least, all of you will forget.
1. Camera Charger.
You can plan on vlogging for about an hour then you are done. That didn’t work out like you wanted.
2. iPhone/Smartphone Charger.
Seriously?!?! Who needs power? So much for updating Twitter or Keek.
3. Dress Clothes.
Hey! It’s a YouTube convention! Who the hell is going to dress up? It’s not like there are going to be VIP parties, or anything sexy!!! Yeah should have brought something.
4. Good Shoes.
Yup, you thought you got a Segway with your pass purchase! What’s all this walking about?
5. Deodorant.
Trust me, if you smell bad… I won’t be subscribing to sh*t.
6. Business cards.
Hey I just met you, we had about 2 seconds to talk, you told me about your channel, and by the time I saw Felicia Day… I forgot all about it. Sure wish I had something with your info on it. They are cheap, go get some.
7. Sharpies.
Do you really think that no “stuff signing” will happen? Wether it’s your fan, or you being the fan, nothing sucks more than having to search around for something to write with. People are going to be stupid busy, so take that out of the mix. Again, cheap.
8. Lens Protector.
CRACK! There goes a $2000 lens. Tons of people, with tons of equipment, moving quickly… stuff will bump, and the last thing you need is a cracked lens. Go get a cheap UV filter for your camera, then if it happens, you won’t be in your hotel room crying all day.
9. Enough Underwear.
If you wear it…. What are you going to do when you see Shane Dawson and crap yourself??? Yeah… That’s what I thought.
10. Good Attitude.
Most importantly, this is going to be a kick ass convention for a very special community. There are tons of nasty comments online… leave the hate at home and just come to have a fun time. If you don’t like something, go find something you do like. Trust me, there is something for everyone.
So there you go. Print this out, or just make a good packing list.
