Though Madonna accused Lady Gaga of being reductive, Reductive Records, a nonprofit music label known for catchphrases like “negate celebrity” and “less is enough” is not pleased.
The label is associated with small, earnest acts, whose music stands on artistic merits rather than media attention. Spokesman M. A. Nelson says “We have worked hard to build our reputation as the antithesis of all the things Madonna and Lady Gaga stand for. To hear Lady Gaga called reductive is like serving barbeque to vegetarians.”
