Fireflies Are Pretty Neat But Long Exposure Photography Make Them Mega-Super Neat

Cityscapes, traffic, stars and fireworks we so last year. Now it's time for nature's lightbulbs to get some much needed long exposure.

Yes, long exposure photography is pretty sweet and yes, it can be pretty amazing but the subject matter is getting a bit samey don't you think? Lucky for us, a couple of photographers from Japan have been experimenting with the genre and have come up with a winner - fireflies!

Yume Cyan spent a month in the forests of Nagoya City, Japan, and took some pretty wonderful images

    Isn't it beautiful?

Doesn't it feel like a Disney Princess should come twirling out from behind one of the trees?

These kinds of pictures should be taken during the rainy seasons - mainly in June and July

    Because that's when fireflies mate

    After thunderstorms!

And it's not just Yume Cyan

Photographer Yuki Karo has also been at it

And has created every brides dream lighting scheme

The pictures were taken around the Maniwa and Okayama Prefecture in Japan

And have made me want to go to there

    In a word... they're perfect
