Arguably one of the most famous features of the falls is a naturally formed pool known as the Devil’s Pool. During the months of September to December, when the river flow is at a certain level with little current, the thrill-seekers marvel at this frightening, yet majestic view.

It isn’t scary because you do it when the water table is really low, so it’s got the pressure of a mountain stream in that area that people are sitting in. In order to die you would have to exert a whole bunch of effort (stand up, walk across a four-foot ledge of rock, fling yourself off), so as long as you do whatever the guide tells you, you won’t be in any danger.

Do how many people every year… you know? Remember when MJ held his baby over a balcony and the press went apeshit? The people with babies there should be in jail. And to the people lying completely horizontally, are you aware that a momentary surge of 1/2 inch of water would be more than enough to float you right over the edge?
