Bin Laden may be dead but Bluewater Productions won’t let his memory wither away and die. The Vancouver based comic book publisher announced they will be releasing a graphic novel based on the capture of the former world’s most-wanted terrorist…and that’s just what the public needs, right? If you aren’t familiar with Bluewater, here’s a few awesomely fantastic comic books they’ve published that you must check out, Puppy Power: Bo Obama, Fame: Justin Beiber, The Mis-Adventures of Adam West and the classic William Shatner Presents: Man O’ War. The new Bin Laden graphic novel will be entitled “Killing Geronimo: The Hunt for Osama Bin Laden.” Bluewater also announced they will be working with the publishers Simon & Schuster on the project. “It’s a milestone collaboration for the independent publisher”, said Darren G. Davis, co-author and Bluewater president. “It’s the first time they’ve worked with a publisher with the stature of Simon & Schuster, and the first time Bluewater has based a book on a historical event.”

Now that it’s all official and J. J. Abrams has signed on to direct Star… According to co-writer Roberto Orci: “The cast is excited. We have a director. We’ve started scouting locations. The second time around the crew is all ready together from the start, so we can jump right into the adventure.” Together with fellow writer Mark Johnson, Orci has been busy working on some Star Trek comics that tie in with the movie sequel. He says: “The first few issues are adaptations of The Original Series episodes, as the ‘new’ crew encounters some of the same threats the original crew did, but with differences that reflect things like Kirk being a younger captain and Spock losing his homeworld. As we get closer to the next movie, the stories will begin to foreshadow the events of the movie, such as possibly introducing new characters we will see on screen… Pun very much intended.” I love the idea of recreating some stories from The Original Series with the ‘new’ crew, but then I am a sucker for alternate story-lines. Any guesses who these new characters might be that Orci teases us with? I know they’ve all ready had a big-screen début in Star Trek: First Contact (1996) but I would love to see the Borg introduced into this fresh new Star Trek timeline. Maybe even a guest appearance from Patrick Stewart as Locutus. Anything or anyone in particular you’d like to see in the Star Trek sequel?

Introducing the Bang Lamp…fire the gun and the lamp turns off. Shoot the lamp… Bang! is a desk lamp with a gun-shaped remote controller. User can fire the “gun” to turn the light off. The light goes out and the lampshade knocks to the side, showing that it’s been hit. To turn it back on, simply shot it again, and the lampshade will raise up slowly and turn the light back on at the same time. Check out the video demonstration.
