As a former Girl Scout (for 10 years) and a current Girl Scout volunteer, I am personally ashamed by this girl's obvious ignorance. Not once does she discuss what it means to be transgender. Citing Safety-Wise guidelines for male volunteers is irrelevant. Those guidelines are are written with men who identify as male in mind, not transgendered boys. Huge difference. The Girl Scout experience I have always had is about acceptance, understanding, and love. Girl Scouts teaches girls and young women to broaden their views and step outside of their comfort zone. GUH! This just saddens me.
