10 Photos Capturing A Fisherman's Wife In CatBa, Vietnam, Bringing In Assorted Fish To Mainland To Sell

Cat Ba Island is the largest of the 366 islands that makes up the Halong Bay archipelago in Northern Vietnam and the only one that provides a substantial settlement. Cat Ba has several fishing villages as well as a fast-growing town. Most residents earn their living from the sea, while others cater to the tourist trade. In a typical fisherman household, men are the main participants in the fishing activities. However, fish trading is the main task for the women. Once the fish are brought home, the women sort them out according to their size and value. They then bring their fish baskets to the mainland where a seller awaits to carry them in and buy.
