    #ILOOKAMERICAN

A group of students at Syracuse University asked their peers about their own American identities and "What does it mean to be an American?" These are the responses they received:

    What is the #ILOOKAMERICAN campaign?

For a semester long Diversity in Media project, five students from Syracuse University asked their peers to discuss their own American identities and what being an American means to them. The students then put together two videos to show that there is not one "American Identity" and that being an "American" means something different to everyone.

The students also created a longer video that involves a more in-depth student discussion about American identity. Students were asked to answer the questions "Have you ever been questioned about your American identity?" and "What does it mean to be American?"

    The Discussion and Twitter Campaign

The students have also created a Twitter account to continue the discussion around the question "What does it means to be American?" and allow people to share their own stories about their American identity.
