Who Really Pays The Bills?

A recent analysis by Aaron Campbell illustrates the ratio between taxes paid/federal funding received for the reddest and bluest states. The results might—or might not—surprise you.

The X axis represents political leanings; close to the origin for liberal, farther away for conservative. Basically it’s the same as the color.

The upshot: most blue states pay more taxes and receive fewer services, while the opposite is true of most red states. Food for thought, given the political budget stalemates recently.
