wasteofflesh 11 months ago#7 It may not be the case anymore, but a capital “E” in the records typically means excused. so you wouldnt use that letter for a grade. #12 is painfully obvious. the “alphabet song” the way we all learned, is set to twinkle twinkle little star. thats how you have to say it to make the letters match up with the song. and #21 its because they are finger food. obviously. other people nailed the simple explanations of all the others. this list is a complete and utter fail. to quote billy madison..”what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. Most of these are easily explainable.
#1 A square box is significantly easier to make rectangular than circular; Have you ever tried to make dough into a square? Not easy. Also, easier to cut; with the circular shape a triangular piece is the only way to evenly distribute the pizza.
#2 There are generally more people in college than in elementary school-more room; more space. Also, most colleges are going to computers which need less space to be used.
#3 I don’t know about you, but mine usually work rather well?
#4 You can write faster. It was invented before computers and typing quickly.
#5 It’s the human response. Generally, when something isn’t working our response is to do it again. Doing it again turned into doing it faster and again with good results. Good results lead to a pavlov effect in which our minds tell us to repeat actions in order to garner results. Harder is just an effect of faster. Another explanation-Perhaps the button didn’t work once so to press harder would be to stimulate the board correctly and thus get it to work?
#6 I like the other commentators response-vanity. To fix one’s makeup or clean oneself up.
#7 Some places do use E, it’s just a matter of preference. F is generally associated with failure so…
#8 There are two legs.
#9 It’s a vocal expression of the release of endorphins one experiences when stretching.
#10 Fun-sized. It’s made for kids. Handed out at parties. Cheaper. It’s easy to come up with some explanation for this one.
#11 I’m going to reiterate what the other commenter said; in french it’s pronounced dooble-vay.

#7: Many colleges use E instead of F.
#12: Because you memorize it by rote, through a cognitive process known as chunking (in this case, grouping together a chunk of letters so that the whole string of them is possible to memorize).
#13: Very, very out-of-touch (with both popular culture AND reality) parents and grandparents.
#20: And the alternative would be creating new outfits for every single character, every day that passes—even within an episode? That’s just too much work. -

5. Because most remote controller buttons are made of pressure sensing material (soft “rubbery” contact surface pressing on a flat hard contacts) and the harder you press, the better the contact and the less resistance. When batteries are running out, the voltage drops all across the board and light presses of buttons aren’t always registered anymore…
