Why did the examples jump from the 1950's to the 1500's?

Ahem. I don't know of any living guy on this earth who would take Heidi Montag, Nicole Richie, Keira Knightley, or Kirsten Dunst over Bettie Page or Marilyn Monroe. So maybe “hotter” only insofar as what women perceive men think is hot, but not actually true, since most guys I've encountered seem to go for the big T&A over thinner women.

The ones involving celebrity are totally true… I'm glad the tides seem to be turning back to where there's a wider range of sizes & shapes in the media, finally. Bring on the diversity, from Christina Hendricks to Melissa McCarthy, from older to younger and every ethnic background. As long as women are healthy and happy, that alone should be considered beautiful. In terms of the old artworks, a lot of them are religious iconography, so “hot” isn't really a factor. “Ideals of beauty and virtue”, perhaps, but sex appeal? Not so much.

The pictures of women like Kirsten, Keira, etc. are unfair because they're candid photos, most likely from a bikini issue of a tabloid that rags on their figures anyways.

I completely agree with the first one.

Bettie still looks hotter than all of the above.

Isis is still the grand momma of all hotties, no gilf jokes intended. But that top row doesn't really speak for all of us. Black america still likes our women thick.
