They “look like paintings” because they're HDR photos?
I would like to clarify just a bit. This building is supposed to represent our hard work, our resilience, and the good triumphing over evil. However, has America really recovered from that horrible terrorist attack? Are we not in a state of disarray as far as our economic, democratic and foreign policy seem to indicate? Is this one beautiful building supposed to represent what the country has stood for, for more than two centuries? I would say it's an empty symbol, unfortunately. We have a long way to progress in order to say we've overcome that tragedy. It's been one step forward and ten steps back at every turn. It saddens me that most people cannot recognize these things. I hope that one day I can be proud of this monument and have it inspire me as it does you. But until that day, I cannot and will not use this as a pillar of our nation's strength.
