Since I am in favor of marriage equality I feel it is necessary to point out that if you are also in favor of marriage equality then you support the right of anyone to marry whomever or whatever they wish. As soon as you start to think “Oh well you can’t marry your cousin, or your dog, or your car, or…” then you are not in favor of marriage equality. Newsflash: if no one ever procreated with their relatives humanity would have been a biological dead end millions of years ago. Homosexuality is taboo for the same reason that incest is taboo: inefficient procreation technique.

Okay, so constitutional amendments similar to Amendment One were already passed in 29 states before NC, and marriage between cousins is legal in 24 states besides NC, but let’s take it ALL out on North Carolina, shall we? Look, I think Amendment One is as stupid as everyone else but I’m already sick of NC being the scapegoat for stuff going on all around the country.
