Aaron Hernandez Is Officially Indicted In Friend's Murder

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez learned Thursday that a grand jury believes there is enough evidence to charge him with the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Former NFL player Aaron Hernandez learned Thursday that he has been indicted on first-degree murder charges in the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

According to the indictment, a grand jury determined that evidence suggests Odin Lloyd was assaulted and killed on or around June 17, and they find probable cause to believe that Aaron Hernandez was involved.

Hernandez appeared relaxed in the courtroom, smirking at times.

Members of the Lloyd family attended today's hearing wearing pins. According to reporters in the courtroom, they maintained eye contact with Hernandez during the entire 15-minute hearing.

Hernandez's case will now move from District Court to Superior Court where he will be arraigned in the next seven days and will have a chance to request bail during the arraignment. In the meantime, he will be held without bail.

Hernandez's lawyer Michael Fee said after the hearing that Hernandez is "an innocent man as we stand here today."
