I don't understand how this album is 15 years old. Can time just...not do that, thanks.
Honestly, I hated maths and rock music when I was nine, and I hate it now. Bye.
Best dramatic lyric: "Don't have to be a genius, to figure what's between us / If you can't do the math, then get out of the equation."
I hate that this is the song that the album is named after. Honestly...is she singing about a dude getting a stiffy when she walks by? Is the transformation referring to her growing some titties? I don't know. Just keep it please.
Best dramatic lyric: "Every day is a transformation, every day is a new sensation / Alteration, modification, an incarnation, celebration."
I don't remember this song but I do not like it. After listening to the lyrics, it's like...sis, just find a different man? This one seems like a lot of unnecessary work? In saying that, I probably loved this as a nine-year-old because I had a short attention span and didn't really know how to focus on anything. But lyrics? I don't know her.
Best dramatic lyric: "You roll me, you use me, you love me / And then you wrap me up, and reel me in, and use me again."
Uhhhhh, this shit was sad. Like, very sad-sounding and it's strange because the lyrics of the song are happy? She's singing about how she found this perfect man and 9-year-old and today-me truly can't relate to this content so this doesn't rank high for us.
Best dramatic lyric: "Where did I go right? How did I get you? / How come all this blue sky is around me, and you found me?"
This shit was just so soppy...and I absolutely loved it as a kid. It really made me believe in love and gave me hope for men. Lmao, silly me.
Best dramatic lyric: "Love just is, whatever it may be / Love just is, you and me / Nothing less and nothing more."
Ok Hilary, you really were out here teaching us that we should listen to our brains over our hearts at a young age. I mean, I'm 24 now and it didn't work for my ass because I'm dumb, but it's still a great song lmao.
Best dramatic lyric: "I know I sound insane, like I'm playing games / 'Cause all I really want is you, but there's something a girl won't do."
Oh man, this song had me so hype to turn sixteen. Driving a car? Sitting in traffic in LA? Be able to go dancing in a club? Well, she lied. I didn't get my license until I was 19, have still never been to LA and didn't set foot into a club until I was 18. Smh. Still a good song though, I guess.
Best dramatic lyric: "Today I'm gonna ride away, and feel the sun throughout my hair / Finally free to be who I wanna be, who that is I don't really care."
Damn this song was beaty. I honestly forgot this song by the title alone but after listening to it again, I remember. Boy, oh boy, do I remember. This really was the I'm That Bitch™️ anthem for anyone under the age of 15.
Best dramatic lyric: "It's hard enough to be what you are, harder to be what you're not / It's hard to know what you need to get, harder to know what you've got."
This really was some deep, dramatic shit. This was the original pop version of an interlude before they became a thing. If this were produced today it would 100% have a verse by Chance the Rapper rapping about God on it.
Best dramatic lyric: "Listen girl, gotta know it's true / In the end all you've got is you."
See, this is a love song I can get behind because it sounds the way it should – happy. It makes me want this type of love Hilary was singing about. Wait. Uh, it MADE me want that type of love. Yeah, haha, 24-year-old me is too grown to want that type of silly love.
Best dramatic lyric: "And I can't believe, you hit me fast and hard / When you turn to me and say, never change the way you are."
Miss Duff did NOT need to go that hard with this bonus track, but I am grateful that she did. This is debatably one of the best songs on the album, and that's past-me and present-me speaking.
Best dramatic lyric: "You'll never get to heaven, or even to LA / If you don't believe there's a way"
I think this is what I thought emo music was when I was younger. I meaaaaan, it really was the peak of dramatics for any pre-teen out there. Moody lighting? Check. Rain? Check. Looking out the window way too much? CHECK. Amazing.
Best dramatic lyric: "I'm shedding, shedding every colour / Trying to find a pigment of truth beneath my skin."
YOU ALREADY KNOW, THERE IS NO CONTEST. This song absolutely slapped. My dramatic ass performed this at my sixth grade talent show and I'm surprised I had the balls to actually do that. Anyway, I'm pretty certain this song is the reason why I'm such a "men ain't shit" bitch now. And for that, I thank you my queen.
Best dramatic lyric: "Thank you... you made my mind up for me, when you started to ignore me / Do you see a single tear? It isn't gonna happen here / At least not today, not today, not today."
