I think the worst comment I’ve ever gotten was when I was yawning and some guy told me he’d love to jizz in my mouth. It was 10pm on a weekday night walking to my apt. I said nothing but I’ll never forget it. In NYC comments and looks like these are way too common. I’ve started confronting men as well and asking why they think it’s okay to speak to someone like that and it’s always the, “you’re just looking real good today”, “I just wanted to let you know”. I think it’s really important to express your feelings if that’s how you feel. I don’t offend, I don’t call them stupid, but just say though they’re intentions may not be to make me feel uncomfortable, that’s what they’re doing. So far, no luck. Rock on sister. It’d be great if other’s who see something like this happen speak up as well.
This is awesome, so happy to Buzzfeed is covering this. Let’s change the story that’s replaying over and over again.
Best thing that’s not on this list? DUMPSTER DIVING. Especially if you live in a city, a place like NYC has a ton of grocery stores and cafe’s that dump perfectly good food in the trash. It just takes a little courage to dig through. I always eat better when I dumpster dive than when I grocery shop alone.
