    Keeping Fit On The Road

Three weeks without gym, running or spinning could take its toll during the Put Foot Rally, and we’re not talking about the border fees…

Our journey through Southern Africa may see us spending quite a bit of time in the car, and although we have huge love for rhinos, we don’t want to look like one when we get back, especially with all the padkos we’re likely to munch on in between Johnny Clegg renditions!

So we’ve put together a little fitness regime for the road which will keep us on our toes (and fitting into our clothes) en route…

    Shake & Bake Shape Up

    1. Do push-ups next to the car … to see where that noise is coming from.

    2. Run on the spot … when man-eating ants are climbing up your leg.

    3. Practice yoga positions … to be the same shape as the trees we hide behind when being charged by a buffalo.

    4. Weight lifting … every time we repack the car.

    5. Karate chop the air … to whack away any miggies or mozzies.

    6. Lunges … to stretch out after being in the car for hours.

    7. Get out and run around the vehicle … before every checkpoint to make sure everything is in order.

    8. Do Kegel exercises … to hold in our bladders between bathroom breaks.

    9. Sprints … to get the best camping spot at each rest stop.

    10. Swim … to escape crocs in Kariba.

    11. More running … to get petrol when we run dry.

    12. Squats … enough said.
