For one day, 18-year-old Sam Tageson got to forget his illness and live out his dream of being an NHL hockey player.

Sam Tageson was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, but he's refused to let his disease stop him from doing what he loves. And now, thanks to the Sharks Foundation and Make-A-Wish, Sam can cross being signed by a NHL team off his bucket list.

During his day as an official Shark, Sam got to practice with the team and met the franchise's general manager.

Then, Sam got to do something that no one in franchise history has ever been allowed to– he got to skate out of the giant shark head and onto the ice with the team.

He also got to stand with the team during the National Anthem.

The moment Sam skated off the ice and was cheered on by the supportive crowd, it was clear just how much the experience meant to him.
