Democracy is meant to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. Civil rights should not be decided at a state level. If that were the case, segregation, if not slavery, would still be legal.

She is right—this is none of the fed’s business if a state wants to expand the definition of marriage. And equally, NY and other states that redefine marriage have no business trying to throw their changing definitions around to the other states. That’s what makes a republic made up of multiple states great—diversity. Embrace it.

must say that if yoiu truly think that marriage is a states issue, then why not make inter racial marriages a states issue or people who are athiest getting married a states issue! discrimination is discrimination people, sorry but it is! if two people are in love, are not related are of legal age and just like every other DAMN STRAIGHT COUPLE OUT THERE, then why not let them get married? honestly?

At the last Republican debate, she joined most of her presidential candidates in supporting a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. So while she might agree that this is a state’s rights issue, she also thinks the federal government should take away that right. Don’t buy her “reasonable conservative” schtick. She’s an ignorant, bigoted religious fanatic like the rest.
