Why do female costumes have to be overly-revealing? I think most of these costumes were fine in their original form. I enjoy the female body, it's beautiful, but there's a difference between badass and just plain trashy.

God, do I have to outnerd everybody? Just like that wasn't Spider-Woman, but Spider-Girl, those weren't Batgirl and Supergirl but Batwoman and Superwoman(though characters by those names existed before the Crisis on Infinite Earths and have since been reintroduced as different characters. So anyway, the “real” characters, from the top… The first Iron Woman is Pepper Potts as Rescue. After she suffers a similar injury to the one that almost killed Tony Stark and necessitated the creation of Iron Man, he saves her life with an implanted device similar to the ARC reactor in the movie, which leads later to her getting her own suit of armor with no included weapons. She has since been returned to normal health, without the device in her chest. Superwoman and Batwoman were from Earth-11, and first appeared in a reality-hopping arc of Superman-Batman(the modern version of the classic team-up book World's Finest). The gender of everybody on Earth-11 is switched as a later story revisiting the alternate reality has Wonder Man and female versions of The Flash, Green Lantern, The Atom, and many others. As mentioned before, since those stories, new Batwoman and Superwoman characters have debuted. Batwoman is a former flame of Bruce Wayne's, now a lesbian socialite with a shared history with the new female Question, Rene Montoya. Superwoman is Lois Lane's sister, Major Lucy Lane, who, after suffering a near-fatal accident with technology mimmicking Kryptonian powers, now has them without the technology. As mentioned previously, that's not Spider-Woman, but Spider-Girl, who is Peter Parker's daughter, May Parker, in a possible future. There is a Spider-Woman in The Avengers, but she has unrelated powers and is not, other than the name, related to Peter Parker. The pictured She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters, is a long-existing character who has recently been joined by two others going by the same name. Lyra is The Hulk's daughter from a possible future(but unlike Spider-Girl, she's in the present - Spider-Girl's tales all take place in her own time) and a red She-Hulk(to match the relatively new Red Hulk) has recently appeared, but her identity is unknown at this time. Jennifer Walters is a cousin to Bruce Banner and got a blood transfusion from him, allowing her to become She-Hulk.  From the comments, Catman was until recently a bit of a joke character but as a member of the Secret Six he's gone from being a lame Catwoman-inspired Batman knockoff to being more of a “what if Batman were raised on the Sehrengetti instead of in Gotham?” character - a badass savage hunter with a more animalistic moral code X-23 is, as I'm sure the original poster is aware, a clone of Wolverine. Apparently Wolverine wasn't getting into enough books on his own, so they needed to give him a female clone so he could appear as two characters in the same book.

I concur, there should be a gender reversal turning women into men here, too , with exaggerated genitals. Not only would that be just as creepy as this list, it's a double-edged sword here, people.  Also, the Woody & Buzz scare me.

These are very confusing. Sheman and the TMNT just look like a transgendered person and guys in bad drag, respectively. (no disrespect to the lgbt community) Some of them are cool though… I like the first Hell Girl, Darth Vader, and Punisher.

lulz, maybe the tits are where most of those women get their powers from. aside from that, the punisher chick is probably the most anatomically correct & I would love to be punished by that punisher ;)

Ummm….. The TMNTs have a sister. I know it wasn't part of the main story but she has a turquoise head band. I'm pretty sure there is a movie as well. And Aaron is right, some of those aren't female depictions of male versions because they are actual characters.
