A new video showing an officer from the Rochester Police Department rescuing a baby skunk has received nationwide attention. 👮
It was a regular Sunday for Officer Merlin Taylor when he got word that an animal was in distress.
He arrived on the scene to discover an infant skunk that had gotten its head stuck in a yogurt container.
Taylor got out of his vehicle and approached with caution...
After several attempts he successfully grabbed the plastic container.
Then got the fuck out of there.
“Luckily it was a young enough skunk that it couldn’t spray,” fellow officer, Sgt. Mark Lyon, told the Detroit News.
The baby skunk seemed confused, and chilled for a second before scurrying off.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has received attention for his heroism towards animals. A few years ago he saved a group of baby ducks that had fallen into a sewer.
