And, what’s great about all of SoCal, is in any conversation of any kind, the person you’re talking to — even if it’s your BFF — is always looking over your shoulder, not at you. That way, if a more important person appears — even one your BFF has never met — they can immediately switch attention away from you and to someone whose fame and/or fortune might rub off on them. I spent 10 years there. I miss the ocean, that’s it. I made more and better friends in the first six months that I moved to KC. Sad in SoCal? Just get real. Get out.
