19 Malcolm Turnbull Tweets That Are Hilarious Now That He's Prime Minister

    Malsplaining.

The new PM is one of the leading tweeters in the country, sledging political opponents and letting everyone know about his public transport movements.

Now with the glory of hindsight, some of his thousands of tweets are hilarious...

    1. Like remember when Turnbull mercilessly sledged the Labor government for its leadership tussles?

Options for Lent - give up (a) alcohol or (b) talking about Rudd/Gillard?

    2. He argued it was distracting the country from getting on with it.

What will we do when (if) we have no Rudd/Gillard leadership to discuss. http://t.co/s7YabtSc via @sharethis

    3. But there were some things that were even more delicious than leadership chatter.... mmmm pancake stacking

@skateanderson pancake stacking sounds more interesting than the Rudd/Gillard saga. Good to see you today.

    4. And remember when he gave it to former PM Kevin Rudd for backflipping on climate change? Lmao.

@sylmobile odd headline in the SMH story - the biggest turnaround on climate policy has been from Kevin Rudd dumping the ETS.

    5. Reminder: Turnbull was staunchly for an Emissions Trading Scheme in 2009. He even lost the leadership because he wouldn't back down.

Thanks for your support - sorry haven't had a chance to reply to all yr msgs. Very disappointed the ETS has been blocked in the Senate.

    6. He would remind all of his followers about the fact.

@balkandishlex we legislated for and supported and ETS when we were in government. You can read about it here http://tinyurl.com/dmzvas

    7. The PM loved the ETS when he spoke to the ABC.

spoke with Lyndal Curtis on AM this morning about the greener, cheaper, smarter way on ETS.

    8. He'd speak to literally anyone about his <3 of an ETS.

On Kerry Anne Kennely's show this morning - discussing ets and kevin rudd.

    9. Turnbull has always been ~famously~ for marriage equality.

@jillianblackall as you know I support marriage equality and a free vote on the question. The latter will be a matter for the party room.

    10. Turnbull, who loves to tout that MPs vote according to beliefs in the Liberal party, said that not getting a "free vote" was the problem.

@benjamin_farr because we didn't have a free vote. If we had had one I wd have.

    11. As PM he probably could change that.

@michaelaarghh @james_alker we did not have a free vote which mean't that front benchers wd have to resign & go to bbench to vote for ssm

    12. With the first two Abbott budgets in deficit (and another decade forecasted) it seems like it's not just a Labor problem.

@trendsnever @LiberalAus @TonyAbbottMHR there isn't much evidence the alp can deliver anything beyond debt deficit delays & dysfunction.

    13. Oh also... remember the ABC's Australia Network which Turnbull said was being threatened by Rudd/Gillard? Well the Abbott/Turnbull regime gutted its funding.

Australia Network tender another victim of the Gillard – Rudd feud. http://t.co/aaWS55iO

    14. Look some of the Turnbull + dog pictures are hilarious regardless of whether he's PM.

With Jason Wood and his huge campaign mascot Great Dane Mr Black - bit bigger than JoJo!

    15. And the plight of his dog "JoJo".

@LesJohnsLes the only person under our bed is JoJo the dog and she is not a red.

    16. Like imagine if "JoJo" had serious foreign policy insights on the Syrian civil war? Let's get JoJo to speak to Bashar Al-Assad.

@PeterPhelpsMLC jojo the dog believes the last effective ruler to come out of Libya was Septimius Severus #lateline

    17. Turnbull has been owning people on Twitter for many years.

Pity the Chaser. There is nothing they can write as bizarre or absurd as the Gillard/Rudd/Latham soap opera. Only fiction has to credible.

    18. It's just now funny because he also unseated a first term prime minister.

How surreal that Gillard's campaign now depends on the resuscitation of the man she so ruthlessly deposed only a few weeks ago.

    19. And if he found it hard to answer this question from kids in 2010... he might find it even harder now

@jmjeffrey the kids were very, very smart - for example qns included how Kevin Rudd could be removed as PM without an election.
