Torture jokes were a big hit at Dick Cheney's roast earlier this week--even Cheney himself told a torture joke. Here are other torture facts Cheney and Co. can laugh about.

1. U.S. forces tortured at least eight men to death.

3. America tortured children.

4. U.S. soldiers raped both male and female detainees, including children.

"At least one picture shows an American soldier apparently raping a female prisoner while another is said to show a male translator raping a male detainee. Further photographs are said to depict sexual assaults on prisoners with objects including a truncheon, wire and a phosphorescent tube. Another apparently shows a female prisoner having her clothing forcibly removed to expose her breasts. Detail of the content emerged from Major General Antonio Taguba, the former army officer who conducted an inquiry into the Abu Ghraib jail in Iraq.”

5. The Bush administration used torture to try to get information that would help make the case for war with Iraq.

7. According to veteran interrogators, torture prolonged the hunt for Bin Laden and complicated their jobs in trying to develop useful information.
