Pfft do they not remember the annoyances of using VHS tapes? If you wanted to rent a movie from Blockbuster and the last jerk didn't bother rewinding the dang tape themselves, YOU had to do it yourself and that took forever. >:(

No, you got the PS3 all wrong. This is how it goes (typically): 1- Insert disc, boot game from XMB (few seconds)
2- Legal screen and logos (few seconds)
3- Load the game on to the hard drive (a minute, unless it's GT5, then nearly an hour)
4- Oh, this game already has several updates! (these can take a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the size and amount if updates)
5- NOW the game begins. Usually there's a video, but they can be skipped most of the time.
6- Create a profile, tweak your settings (a minute or less)
7- Opening video or tutorial or both (variable) Now you can actually play the game!

Used to be when you got married, you needed blood tests and had to wait 2 weeks for the results. Now, you can get your marriage license without blood tests and be on your way to your first divorce in 72 hours. 73 if you count the honeymoon.

So heartwarming to see folks jumping to defend the future from its dangerous detractors. Who knew the future had such stalwart allies? I, for one, am moved and persuaded. FUCK THE PAST, Y'ALL. THE PAST IS BULLSHIT.

What a bunch of crap. There's so much waiting and annoyances that were left out on the “then” side. And we all would've been envious of today's tech.  How about this. “Then: blow in cartridge after you've waited a minute for it to boot just to find that the screen looks like the matrix again. Try eight times and give up.” And the music bit is BS. The Beatles and MJ are just as popular as they were then, and I've never actually heard Justin Bieber on the radio.

2. Download a movie
3. Spend time being “productive” on the interent.
4. Enjoy movie when needed
