75 million years ago, this land was a home to approximately 35 species of dinosaurs.

Some 35 species of over 34 genera of 12 families of dinosaurs have been found in the park, including specimens from every known group of dinosaurs from the Cretaceous period such as the families of Hadrasauridae, Ornithomimidae, Tyrannosauridae, Nodosauridae, Pachycephalosauridae and Ceratopsidae. Other fossil remains include fish, turtles, marsupials and amphibians. Source

Between 1979 and 1991, a total of 23,347 fossil specimens were collected, including 300 dinosaur skeletons.

This 28.30 square miles park that is well-known for being one of the richest dinosaur fossil sites in the world has earned its UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979.

Much of the park is off limits to visitors without a guide, since there are many ongoing excavations until today.
