These Photos Show The Mesmerising Power Television Has Over Children

Donna Stevens’ photo series Idiot Box comments on the effects of technology on the most impressionable audience, children.

The photo series Idiot Box by Australian photographer Donna Stevens looks at the amount of time our children spend in the virtual world of television.

According to Time, some children watch up to 35 hours of television per week – the same amount of time a French person is legally allowed to work.

"TV is just one of the many ever present black mirrors through which we mediate our lives today. Idiot Box hopes to explore the darker side of our love for technology. This series (shot while children watched TV) was an exploration into the co-dependent yet contradictory relationship we all share with technology and the media." – Donna Stevens
