13 Photos That Prove You Can Be Any Size Or Shape To Be Beach Body Ready

Ignore sexist adverts telling you that only the very fit are welcome at the beach this summer. These snaps of unsuspecting strangers at the seaside show that #EachBodysReady.

Lithuania-based photographer Tadao Cern's photo series Comfort Zone depicts sunbathers from all walks of life relaxing without a care in the world, as people of all shapes and sizes celebrate summer at the beach in whatever manner they choose.

"I started this series because I was surprised how a certain place or surrounding can affect people's behaviour," says Cern.

"During our everyday life we attempt to hide our deficiencies, both physical and psychological. However, once we find ourselves on a beach, we forget about everything and start acting in an absolutely different manner."

"My favourite photograph is the one with the two ladies [below left]. It was my first shot, and from the moment I saw it, I was convinced that I must finish this project no matter what. Even though the process was stressful and frustrating I can finally say that I am really happy with the end result, which turned into a collection of 24 large-scale prints."

"These photos are not staged and the people in them did not suspect that they were being photographed. I chose to capture images of sleeping vacationers because this series is about the seaside, sunbathing and holiday somnolence that is free from the world surrounding you."

"My idea behind this project was to show that no matter how you look, you have very interesting stories to tell."
