There's this awkward time in your early twenties when you spend more time trying to figure out what is actually going on in your life than living it. You become consumed with questions like: Who am I? What's my favorite color? Should I move? If I were a tree, what would I be? How many licks does it really take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Are French fries really French? What kind of dog should I get? Am I destined to be a cat lady?

Well I have the secret to all of life's mysteries: BuzzFeed quizzes.

If you are anything like me - meaning you are a self-proclaimed, twenty-something year old Unicorn prancing around the universe leaving only a trail of glitter- you are really just searching for someone or something to validate how awesome you are. It isn't that you think you are Beyoncé... you know you are Beyoncé. It isn't that you wonder what kind of donut you would be... you just need it to be validated so you can show all of your friends you aren't crazy. BuzzFeed quizzes will validate your inner desires which is why they are so addicting and ALWAYS right. Have you ever taken the Quiz "What mystical creature are you?" We don't spend hours wondering where we fit in the world - we ask BuzzFeed. And we do it all day, errrdayyy because we are AWESOME, resourceful, and can't afford a therapist.

Here are 5 signs you may actually be obsessed with BuzzFeed quizzes (which is really 10 ways you are amazing):

1. You Compare Yourself to Your Answer

Question: What Color Are You? Answer: Pink. You are a friendly, vibrant, and lovable person who enjoys seeing the best in people. You are a loyal friend and are a total people pleaser! You are honestly, perfect.

Reaction: Of course I'm pink! Friendly - duh. Vibrant - check. Lovable - absolutely. Omg I love making my friends happy ... this is SOOOO me!

Any time we get the answer for our quiz we immediately self-identify with it. The description is extremely crucial to our self-perception and can make/break us. It is like the quiz sees right through us and is our best friend. You may ask yourself: How does it know me better than I know myself? It is a purely magical experience when you read the description and it is everything you could have hoped for.. it is purely euphoric. You may now even begin to love the color pink because you two now have this amazing, unexplainable connection that no one else understands.

2. You Immediately Share Your Answer

The world needs to know how perfect you are without it actually coming from you. You can't post a Facebook status saying - I'm such a friendly, lovable, and perfect person. FYI world. You may actually lose every friend you do have and end up being hated almost as much as Scott Disick in Season 1 of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. Instead, you share the BuzzFeed quiz result. You aren't bragging, you are just telling the world that you are actually pink. PLUS, your friends will take the quiz... which leads me to....

3. You Judge People By Their Results

When your friend comments saying they got black, you immediately take the quiz over and over until you get black just so you can read the description and see if you want to be friends with someone like that. If black really means "You aren't really social and a little mysterious. You would rather sit at home and read than go to a bar with your friends. You also enjoy knitting", then do you want to be hanging out with that? I mean honestly, pink and black are complete opposites. Pink doesn't knit, pink has a mojito at the hottest new club in town with her entourage. Beware: you may need to find new friends as a result of some quiz results.

4. Quizzes Are Therapeutic

In any bad situation, we - amazingly, smart, and majestic women - consult our friends and family for support. But sometimes we take advantage of their advice, time, patience, and sanity. Personally, everyone's annoyed of my problems and I prefer to consult with an objectively biased therapist via this glorious website. The quizzes don't judge my bad choices or insecurities.. they just listen and spit out advice. It seems like everyone and their dog is getting engaged on Facebook and I have as much success avoiding it as I do running from Greenpeace people on my college campus. Instead, I do the mature thing and take the quiz that will tell me when I'm getting married. And like any best friend it told me that I'm so fabulous that I am going to be single a little while longer until someone worthy of my presence comes along.. or at least that is how I interpreted the description.

5. People Reference Your Quiz Results Mid-Conversation

So, in sign #2 I mentioned posting your answer to every social media site you have access to and sharing your results with the world. When you do this daily, people then build your identity around those answers. Sometimes its fun because your answer trumps theirs and it becomes a competition of who is cooler. For instance, I am Woody from Toys Story and my friend is Bo Peep ... clearly I'm crushing life and he's just breaking the surface. However, I also am a box of hangars and he is a broom - we both lost that fight. I am now known for taking more quizzes at work than I am for my actual job. What is my job title? No one knows, but they DO know that I am Beyoncé, I should be living in LA or Norway, and I am Mr. Duval from Mean Girls. Which do I prefer? Clearly, the latter.

Warning: Not getting the answer you want is heartbreaking and crushes our self-identity. If you take the quiz 3 times and still get the same answer, just accept it. Maybe what we want and what we need are two different things.. and that is okay. Maybe you got a B- in how epically you are living life but guess what? Now you know that you should embrace the term YOLO and go do your thang. Let this be a motivator.
