Trans Model Recreates #mycalvins Underwear Campaign

What if the Calvin Klein Spring 2016 campaign featured a trans guy? ;)

“The Calvin Klein campaigns are iconic but I’ve never truly felt like they represented me.” says Lucas Charlie Rose, “So I decided to make my own!”

Lucas Charlie Rose was assigned female at birth and has been on hormones for a little over a year and a half but he has never had any type of chest surgeries. In the recreated pictures Lucas proudly shows off his trans body, wearing only a pair of Calvin Klein underwear. Copying the basis of the CK campaign, the words “I ________ in #mycalvins” are overlaid onto the images in CK’s iconic font with different words filling in the blank for each photo.

“Truth is, I cannot afford to get top surgery right now.” says Lucas, “I will one day eventually but that doesn’t mean that I am not allowed to love the way my body looks. You hear the idea that trans people are trapped in the bodies they were born with a lot, I do not feel like that at all. My body is a blessing, it’s the only one I got and I’m going to make sure that I’m taking good care of it.”

These pictures were shot in Lucas's home, in Montreal, QC by the incredibly talented Quebec photographer Susanne Serres and with the help of make-up artist Fabiola Lamarre.

Lucas Charlie Rose is a hip hop artist currently working on his first album as a male artist: 'R O U G E'. Release planned early June 2016.
