    10 Reasons Being An English Lit Graduate Sucks

    So you've got the degree, your referencing is perfect, but let's face it - here's 10 reasons your English Literature degree sucks.

    1. Everyone assumes you know everything about grammar and spelling. You do, but you try not to brag.

    2. People keep asking you what your future career plans are.

    3. When you're reading a book, and you get a bit too excited by the characters' emotional depth.

    4. You just happen to be able to quote Shakespeare casually, and you freak out your friends.

    5. You overreact when people interrupt you during an exciting part. In Shakespeare.

    6. There's always the pressure to become a teacher.

    7. You have to introduce your new friends to the pleasure of reading.

    8. You're either a reader or a writer, and can't decide which right now.

    9. Poetry STILL doesn't make any sense.

    10. But hey, you still did it and you can still ruin movie plots for the next twenty years!
