How Teachers Actually Spent Their Summer
A common misconception about teaching is that teachers spend their summers working on a tan and sleeping in. Naturally, summer does serve as a time for some overdue rest and relaxation but in reality, teachers spend much of their free time working. Over 15 percent of teachers hold additional jobs. In some states, that number is closer to 25 percent. Many more pursue voluntary activities to advance their skills. How, you might ask?
