Disagree entirely, but I’m more nettled by the slights to Vampire Diaries. There is a love triangle there. So what? Teen Wolf played up a kind of triangle between Allison, Scott, and Isaac, and who knows what tropes they would have fallen prey to if Crystal had stayed with the show? TVD’s female characters are A) more prevalent, B) more consistently written, C) better developed, D) not shoved in for plot advancement … I could go on forever. Being more focused on the romance doesn’t mean the characters on TVD aren’t doing big things for women on TV. I don’t watch enough television to state this unequivocally, but it is probably the most feminist show on television, and it has been, and still is doing way more for women on TV than Allison Argent ever could hope to.
