She may not have earned any money, but your hypothetical wife is a bargain, even with a divorce. If you had to pay for all the things that a housewife typically does, it would probably cost more than most men’s yearly salaries (housekeeper, personal chef, personal shopper, chauffeur, babysitter/child care, personal assistant….).
