Facesquatting
“Facesquatting” is the new term that has sprung up post-Facebook Land Grab 2009 (for the confused, I’m speaking of the Facebook Username selection that happened yesterday at midnight). It applies to those who have taken advantage of the username free-for-all to grab unusual (or branded) usernames — and often ones that aren’t their own actual names.

Bear Beorning 3 years agoMy facebook user name: I’d just as soon mass-mail my SSN , date of birth, and financial account numbers to random Russian websites than cave to herd mentality and post personal information to a site owned by a company with such incredibly dubious business ethics.
