From concept to reality: Lady Gaga’s Asian Tour costumes
You know if an outfit involves robotic thigh-high boots, tubular PVC details and gloves with mirrored nails, it could only be created for one person: Lady Gaga. And that’s what Giorgio Armani has been working away at in creating costumes for Gaga’s 2012 Asian Tour. But one of the most interesting things we find about creating theatrical pieces such as these is not just the pieces themselves, but the creative process. In releasing sketches of the outfits we get to see the final concepts as they were imagined, before seeing the final results on stage. You don’t have to be a Gaga fan to find that design process – from sketch to reality – a captivating one.
