I rescued Oliver back in October after I met him through a program at work that allows staff to walk shelter dogs on their lunch break. When I went to pick Oliver up, a shelter worker, 6'3", 300lbs., chased Oliver around a pen for 20 minutes as I waited. The door burst open behind me and Oliver appeared, pulling the worker into the lobby. He was sweating, his pants were near his knees and he was wobbly on his feet. He shoved the leash at me and flopped down in a chair announcing "Chasing that dog like catching a greased pig. Good luck." I paid $7.50 for his adoption fee and walked out the door. My life changed forever and not because I stepped in poop three times before we even got to the car.
