"We've all had those moments when we've left the barber and we look at ourselves in the mirror of our car and we're like Noooooooo. Or like a waxer. So there is that same thing. You see your dog and all of a sudden they have the Jennifer Aniston when you asked for the Lena Dunham."

"It's always embarrassing when our dogs jump on houseguests because it's like kids — they're really well behaved and then all of a sudden they're acting crazy. You're just that person that's like, 'OFF. OFF. OFF. OFF.' And then your guests are always like, "Oh, it's OK!" and you're like, "No, it's actually not. I need them to learn." So I guess that's probably how I'm going to be as a parent too. NOT saying off, off, off, off — but getting them to learn."

"We are definitely guilty of doing that. We're just going for a leash and we leave with a doggie bag and a slew of toys that he may or may not want. It's like baby clothes. I feel like I'm going to be the same way with baby clothes and just go crazy and then I'm going to have all these things that I don't know what to do with after three months. The menagerie of dog toys we have is really kind of embarrassing, actually."

"When I forget to bring a doggie bag on my walk, I look at my surroundings and see what I can use in place of that. Usually it's a leaf. I try to find a large leaf. I try to find a very sturdy, large leaf. It can be very difficult in the fall and winter months. In the winter months you just take two sticks, pick it up, and walk super slowly pretending you're handling a hot potato, and you just drop it in the nearest vessel."

"We've had to put him up a few times when we've left town and we don't have a proper babysitter. I always feel like I'm abandoning my dog, but usually they're just thrilled to be around other four-legged friends and are kind of disappointed that they have to come home, which makes me really sad. So I try not to take them to be boarded too much. I feel like they just get used to it and don't want to leave."

"We actually never feed our dogs table food because the few times that we've done it, it's ended in some explosive situation that we don't want to deal with. So we learned our lesson and don't allow our dogs to eat food off of the table. I do share his food. He has a beautiful, beautiful Purina One diet."

"When we first got our dog my husband said he will not be on any furniture, he will not be in the bed. And of course that has completely been thrown out the window and he's on our furniture at all times. But the trick is he has to be invited up. Our new dog just allows himself up and we're trying to really curb him of that, but sometimes you just want to snuggle your dog. I'm not going to go on the floor to snuggle him. My comfort level should also be taken into consideration."
