Two Canadian Cows Made A Break For Freedom And Police Tweeted The Whole Thing

    They might be milking this.

A pleasant spring morning in Vaughan, Ont. was shattered by news of what's now being called the Great Cow Escape.

COWS - Reports of two cows on the loose on Kipling near King Vaughan Rd. Mooove out of their way #YRGoneWild Officers will be attending.

According to the Toronto Star, the pair escaped their enclosure by breaking through a fence before galloping to freedom (and traffic).

York Regional Police are no strangers to such bovine bandits and know exactly how to bring them to justice: with puns.

COW UPDATE - Early information from officers is that these bovines are known to police and are repeat offenders. Udderly unacceptable.

No beef @TheMorningRev just want people to moooove out of their way. 2% chance someone could skim them with their car #YRGoneWild

The officers tried deescalating the situation with dialogue, but the cows weren't ready to hoof it out of there just yet.

COW UPDATE - 2 officers now on scene discussing options with the cows. Appears it will take some convincing to return to the green pasture

Officers identified the ringleader as Damian, a rough-and-tumble character with a known temper.

COW UPDATE - Officers advising one cow with the horns name is Damian and is known to charge at people. Road closed in the area #YRGoneWild

They did not go over this at the police academy.

COW UPDATE - 3 officers on scene handling road closure and wrangling duties. Wrangling definitely not in the training manual #YRPGoneWild

COW UPDATE - Early investigation revealing that the cows, led by Damian, broke through fence on south side of farm. Investigation ongoing.

Finally, after almost an hour, Damian and his accomplice were put back behind bars.

COW UPDATE - BREAKING - The cows have been safely corralled, for now. Officers reporting that Damian is less than pleased #YRGoneWild

@YRP I guess we will have to remember to steer clear from that one. #YRGoneWild https://t.co/lnJ8odFujO

York Region, just north of Toronto, has seen its fair share of animal capers, like this total ass of a suspect who was on the loose just last week.

It's true - on Friday, @YRP officers in Vaughan had to take action to get this ass off the road. #YRgonewild

    Stay alert, stay safe.
