What with the recent popularity spike of YouTube and its content creators, seemingly all you need to be a 'Beauty Guru' is a pretty face and a collection of Sigma brushes. However, these are the five that I think are worth sitting through the rubbish ads for.

A make-up and hair artist in her native Netherlands, she really knows her stuff. Often creating tutorials based on music videos her content can be slightly less practical, using bright colours and pigments, but she's incredibly creative and educated on what she's talking about. Worth watching if you're interested in the beauty industry.

2. leighannsays

Subscribers - 456,000+

Leighann's videos are much more for the 'everyday' make up consumer. She features simple tutorials and wearable looks often only using drug store products. I think she comes across as a knowledgeable and likeable person which really helps when having to sit through eight minutes of someone's face. Worth watching for hauls and product reviews.

3. Lauren Curtis

Australian Lauren has been one of the fastest growing Beauty Guru's over the past year, growing by hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Her tutorials are aimed mainly at older teenage girls, focusing on a lot of 'clubbing' looks. Her style is also extremely envied and her instagram is full of beautiful clothes and accessories. Worth watching if like to mix up your looks and aren't shy with eye shadow.

4. Rachel Whitehurst

If you want honest opinions on products, this is your girl. Although less focused on make up tutorials, her product hauls and recommendations are always honest and informative. Also, she tends to stick to low end or easily accessible products which is great if you're on a low budget. Worth watching if you're wondering what products are worth investing in.

Bunny's quirky style has apparently appealed to almost two and a half million people and I completely understand why. Although not a traditional beauty channel, she is hugely entertaining and informative.
